Left-handed shooters have spent years watching new rifle stocks arrive for right-hand actions first. Sometimes a left-hand version follows. Sometimes it doesn’t. MDT is closing that gap by adding a Remington 700 Short Action Left Hand inlet to its CRBN rifle stock lineup.

The new stock gives left-handed Remington 700 owners access to the same carbon-fiber platform already offered for right-hand rifles. It went on sale this week and targets precision shooters and hunters who want to shed weight without giving up rigidity.

The shell is made from foam-filled carbon fiber with a magnesium micro chassis at its core. Carbon-fiber construction keeps the stock light, while the chassis provides a solid interface for the action. MDT says the foam helps dampen vibration during recoil, giving the rifle a less lively feel and making it easier to watch impacts through the scope.

Inside, the action sits on a V-block bedding system, eliminating the need for traditional bedding work. The fore-end is wide and built to stay rigid when loaded on a bipod, tripod or barricade.

There’s no shortage of mounting options. A full-length ARCA rail runs beneath the fore-end, with M-LOK slots available for additional accessories. Length of pull adjusts with spacers, the cheek riser moves without tools and thumb shelves are molded into both sides of the grip. In addition, QD sling cups are built into the front and rear of the stock.

For installation, simply drop in the action, add compatible bottom metal, tighten the two action screws and the rifle is ready to go.

The CRBN stock uses AICS-pattern magazines, so shooters will need compatible bottom metal. MDT offers two versions.

The Precision Bottom Metal is aimed at competition rifles. It adds a flared magazine well, an adjustable magazine latch and an integrated barricade stop that keeps pressure off the magazine when shooting from obstacles.

As for the Hunting Bottom Metal, it trims things down with a lower-profile design that’s less likely to catch on packs or brush. It also adds a lockable magazine latch to prevent accidental releases in the field. Both versions accept AICS magazines.

The base bare bottom metal stock is priced at $1,299.99. A CRBN stock with the Precision Bottom Metal sells for $1,579.99, while the Hunting Bottom Metal version costs $1,599.99. Buyers can choose either Black Carbon Fiber or Woodland colors.
