Watch a top PRS shooter build a position and you’ll notice how little searching happens. Hands land where they always land, and the rifle settles the same way it settled on the last stage. MDT’s new Rifle Control Points are built to hand that repeatability to everyone else, giving the support hand a fixed home on the fore-end.

MDT Rifle Control Points are a pair of ergonomic aluminum thumbshelves that bolt onto any standard M-Lok fore-end. The idea is simple. Instead of hunting for hand placement or rebuilding a grip between positions, a shooter’s support hand returns to the same index point every time they get behind the rifle. That consistency pays off on the clock, where stable positions built quickly separate clean stages from dropped points.

Placement is wide open. Because the shelves ride M-Lok slots, they can sit anywhere along the fore-end to match hand size, shooting style and bag setup. A shooter running a small pump-pillow bag can tune the shelves differently than someone draped over a full-size fortune cookie, and both get the same repeatable index.

Bag engagement is the other half of the design. A V-hull profile on the underside bites into the support bag rather than skating across it, which helps the rifle track straighter through recoil. Straighter tracking means the reticle stays closer to the target through the shot, making it easier to spot impacts and stay ready for follow-ups. Texture machined into the thumb interface should help keep grip positive when conditions turn wet or dusty.

MDT points out the footprint advantage, too. Control Points are smaller than a standard chassis weight while offering adjustability and bag engagement a weight can’t match. Each shelf measures 2.36 inches long and the pair weighs just 2.33 ounces, machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type II anodized finish built for seasons of hard use. Left and right shelves come in every package, so the setup works ambidextrous out of the box.

Compatibility covers MDT’s ACC Elite and ACC Premier chassis systems along with the LSS Gen3 Comp fore-end. Rifle Control Points carry a $119.99 price and are available now through MDT dealers and at mdttac.com.
