Aimpoint recently announced their new ACRO (Advanced Compact Reflex Optic) micro red dot sight. Designed for direct integration onto pistol slides, the new sight is touted by the company as "the only fully enclosed system in its size." There's no MSRP yet, but the pricing is rumored to range from $500 to $800.

ACRO P-1 Micro Red Dot Sight
The ACRO is night vision ready with four night settings and eight daylight settings, one specially designed for use in extra bright conditions

This is a non-magnifying parallax-free optic that features a 3.5 MOA red dot. It is fully submersible up to 25 meters and allows continuous operation for one year on a single CR1225 battery. The red dot intensity is adjusted with side push buttons. Settings include one off position, four night vision compatible settings and eight daylight settings. One daylight setting is extra bright for use in bright sunlight.

Dimensions are 1.9 inches long by 1.2 inches wide. The optic will add minimal bulk to guns, but with a 2.1-ounce weight, the fully-enclosed design is a bit heavier than other comparable products. Including the mount, the total weight jumps to 3.7 ounces.

The new ACRO P-1 sight can also be used as a backup sight.

“The commitment we make to our customers is to develop the highest performing red dot sights available,” said Aimpoint AB President Lennart Ljungfelt. “The ACRO P-1 optic fulfills that commitment by providing the lightest and most rugged enclosed red dot sight in its size category on the market.”
