CMP has upgraded its Kongsberg Target Systems outdoor electronic target line with a new eScore platform and iPads for each firing point on the 600-yard range at Talladega Marksmanship Park in Talladega, Alabama.

Talladega Marksmanship Park, CMP’s 500-acre outdoor facility, is comprised of several ranges that accommodate rifle, pistol, archery and shotgun disciplines.

Talladega e-target
CMP has upgraded the Kongsberg Target Systems outdoor electronic target line at Talladega Marksmanship Park to include a new eScore platform, billed as “the world’s first cloud-based shooting software.”

Since Talladega’s opening in 2015, the 600-yard rifle range has been equipped with a string of electronic targets, powered by Kongsberg Target System technology. The system was designed to show shot placement on LED displays next to each competitor on the firing line.

Kongsberg Target System’s updated system at Talladega will retain the ease of use and accuracy of the targets, while providing improvements like the replacement of the large monitors with personal iPads for each participant.

The new wireless tablets allow users to zoom in and out, view windage, follow an integrated timer for slow-fire and rapid-fire stages, along with other adjustable settings. Kongsberg Target System Journal software also automatically uploads target images and scores to the CMP website in real time.

The CMP has already applied KTS eScore to its Travel Games events with success in functionality and the reduction of competition times. Now, with the latest installation at Talladega Marksmanship Park, guests will be able to experience the same accessibility and precision.
