Federal Ammunition sponsored shooters Derrick Mein, Brian Burrows, Caitlin Connor and Ben Keller all landed roster spots on the U.S. National Skeet and Trap teams after the conclusion of USA Shooting’s 2025 Shotgun Spring Selection Matches earlier this month.

Qualification matches took place January 22 to 26 for Trap and January 29 to February 2 for Skeet at the Palm Beach County Shooting Sports Complex in West Palm Beach, Florida. More than 100 athletes from across the country competed to earn a team selection or secure a medal. Competitors shot 250 targets in the qualification round, aiming to shoot scores that would land them in the finals.

In Men’s Trap, Derrick Mein, a two-time Olympian, and Brian Burrows, a Tokyo 2020 bronze medalist, were both named to the U.S. National Men’s Trap Team following their event performances.

Vincent Hancock, a four-time Olympic gold medalist, won the Men’s Skeet division. And due to his excellent performance at the match, Conner Prince, the Paris 2024 Olympic silver medalist, is now tied for the lead for World Championship selections. Because these two competition shooters did not participate in the September 2024 qualification match, they are not eligible to make the U.S. National Men’s Skeet Team roster.

Caitlin Connor walked away from the Women’s Skeet Selection Match with a bronze medal. And the newest member of Team Federal—Ben Keller—won the Junior division for Skeet. These finishes earned Connor and Keller places on their respective 2025 U.S. National Skeet Teams.

Federal’s competition shotgun shells include High Over All, Gold Medal Paper and new-for-2025 Federal Master Class. The latter is the company’s latest sporting-clays load.
