After qualifying for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics earlier this year, Team USA trapshooter Maddy Bernau has now joined Team Winchester. Bernau will take on the toughest trap competitors in the world at the Olympics next year with Winchester AA shotshells in the International Bunker Trap category.

Bernau debuted on the American trap scene at age 12 at a local 4-H club, and became hooked on the sport. The experience led Bernau to join her local Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) team, competed throughout her high school career. After attending a SCTP development camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., in 2014, she began to compete in international trap competitions. Bernau quickly rose through the ranks after winning multiple junior and collegiate medals, also competing in Italy, Korea and Finland. At the Spring Selection Match earlier this year, Bernau really shined, winning the gold medal and earning a spot on the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team.

Winchester is thrilled to add another top-tier shotgun shooter to its team. Bernau will join six-time Olympic medalist and NRA board member Kim Rhode on Team Winchester.

“We’re very excited to have Maddy join Team Winchester and serve as an ambassador for our famous AA shotshells and the shooting sports industry,” said Matt Campbell, vice president of sales and marketing for Winchester Ammunition. “With her background of competing in clay target sports at a young age, she will serve as an excellent role model to new shooters.”
