Earlier this month, Remington Ammunition shared big news—the brand has been working 24/7 to retool and reopen its Lonoke, Ark., facility.

Remington Ammunition is a household name among outdoor enthusiasts and is one of America’s oldest ammo brands—known around the world for its iconic green boxes.

Vista Outdoor, the new steward of Remington Ammunition and the Remington brand, took ownership of the “Big Green” Arkansas manufacturing facility in October 2020 after acquiring certain Remington assets.

Big Green released a video featuring Remington Ammunition President Jason Vanderbrink. Vanderbrink tours the plant, elaborates on his plans to dramatically ramp up production, overcome supply chain issues and how the company is working overtime to address the needs of customers worldwide. (Watch the video above.)

Under Vanderbrink’s leadership, Remington Ammunition is essentially rebooting the Arkansas facility, hiring hundreds of skilled American workers to revitalize operations. Here is what he had to say.

“The shooting sports industry has experienced unprecedented growth and demand for high-quality ammunition, in large part driven by millions of new legal firearms owners joining our community over the last year. Our message to new owners and to our millions of die-hard Remington Ammunition fans is that our operations are in full swing, our quality control is second to none and our entire team is working tirelessly to make more ammo.”

The rebirth and resurgence of Remington Ammunition is great news for all competitive shooters and outdoors enthusiasts. Having one more option in the ammo marketplace is always a good thing, and the return of an icon such as Remington Ammunition is something we are excited about.

One shotgun shooter is already reaping the benefits of the revamped Remington brand and its ammunition. Team Remington shooter Reanna Frauens dominated at the 2021 Florida Trapshooting Championship this past March, shooting Remington Premier STS loads to win the Ladies I Singles, Doubles and Handicap matches.
