Here are the results of this year’s NRA High Power Match Rifle National Championship and Service Rifle National Championship. Both events took place last week during the High Power Rifle Nationals as part of the NRA National Matches at Camp Atterbury, Ind.
Match Rifle
The NRA Match Rifle Championship is determined from Match Rifle shooter scores drawn from the aggregate of the Vandenberg Cup, Nevada Trophy and Clarke Trophy matches.
Winning first place in the 2021 NRA Match Rifle National Championship was Kenneth Lankford of Laramie, Wy., with a score of 2379-104X. His score also gave him the High Senior award.
In second place was Hugo Adelson of Brenigsville, Pa., with a score of 2380-133X. He also won the High Veteran award.
Finishing in third place was Jeff Browning of Ashburn, Va., scoring 2373-117X.
All of the top three shooters are classified as High Masters.
As for the special award winners, Jack Jones of Akron, Ohio, is this year’s High Grand Senior with 2357-97X, and the High Police award went to A.S. Young of Columbia, Mo., with 2364-94X.
Service Rifle
The NRA Service Rifle Championship is determined from Service Rifle scores that are taken from three match aggregates: The Vandenberg Cup, Nevada Trophy and Clarke Trophy matches.
SSG Amanda Elsenboss of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard is this year’s NRA Service Rifle National Champion with a score of 2386-133X. Elsenboss is also the overall 2021 NRA High Power Rifle National Champion. In addition, her score also secured her the High Woman and High National Guard awards for service rifle.
Taking second place was SSG John Coggshall of the Army National Guard with 2380-125X.
In third place was MAJ Samuel K. Freeman of the Army National Guard with a score of 2379-101X.
The top three service rifle shooters are all classified as High Master shooters in the NRA High Power Rifle discipline.
Moving on to the special awards, High Civilian went to Nick Till of Howell, Mich., with a score of 2375-93X.
High Senior was earned by Mark Ehlert of Rosebud, Mo., with 2320-76X.
The High Grand Senior award winner was D. Bauer of Mendota, Ill., with a score of 2348-73X.
Thomas McGowan of Hortonville, Wis., won the High Intermediate Junior award with 2323-92X.
High Police went to Jeffrey Clark of Davie, Fla., with a score of 2323-93X.
Daniel Duitsman of Fredericksburg, Va., won the High Veteran award with 2348-93X.
The High Regular Service award went to SSG Erin McNeil of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit with a score of 2378-115X.
As for the High Reserve award, that honor went to COL Christopher Baer of Fort Leavenworth, Kan., with 2272-42X.
