The brainchild of Daniel Horner, former U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit action shooter and 2015 NRA World Shooting Champion who recently joined Team SIG, OnVirtus aims to provide quality firearms instructional content to the masses at a price that wont break the bank.

“In the past, it’s been difficult to gain access to high-level instructors without sacrificing a lot of time and money,” says Horner, adding, “We wanted to give everyone access to good, high-quality instruction.”

The legendary Jerry Miculek was among the first to join the team of OnVirtus instructors.

High-level instructors is an understatement. The list of shooters that have joined the OnVirtus team reads like a veritable who’s-who of the best competitive shooters in the modern era. Here’s the list of instructors available at launch, along with their specialties.

  • Jerry Miculek –3-gun, revolver
  • Shane Coley – USPSA limited division
  • Max Michel –USPSA open, carry optics
  • Daniel Horner –3-gun, long-range rifle
  • Todd and Colby Hodnett – long-range rifle, ballistics
  • Lena Miculek – pistol caliber carbine, 3-gun
  • Jake Vibbert – precision rifle
  • Brandon Green – NRA high power
  • True Pearce – concealed carry law

More instructors will be added in the coming weeks and months, including Vincent Hancock (shotgun), J.J. Racaza (IPSC limited and open), Eric Grauffel (IPSC), James Henderson (NRA bullseye pistol) and Kenda Lenseigne (cowboy mounted shooting). Horner says he wants the website to expand exponentially.

Each OnVirtus instructor has a profile page which makes it easy to provide feedback, as well as find all their instruction in one location.

As for the format, videos are presented in short clips that make it easy to find exactly what you’re looking for. Furthermore, students are encouraged to ask questions, so that future topics can be tailored to what they want to learn more about. This key element of student engagement is what makes OnVirtus a viable alternative to in-person instruction.

Daniel Horner wanted a way to get valuable shooting information out there in way that is easy to access, at an affordable price.

For access to everything, the cost is $124.99 for a one-year subscription. This represents a great value if you think about it, since there are hours of content available on the website right now. If you don’t think so, go ahead and re-read all of the instructors listed above. And, there are plans to add more content over the coming weeks and Horner says by the end of the year there will be twice as much content available.

“If I had access to this type of a website when I was younger, it would have taken years off my training,” concludes Horner.

Best of all: Shooting Sports USA readers can receive 20 percent off access to OnVirtus.com using this code: SSUSA20.
