SIG Sauer opened its new Jacksonville Arkansas Ammunition Center on the SIG Sauer Ammunition campus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in October, including special guests Gov. Sarah Sanders, Sen. John Boozman and U.S. Army Joint Program Executive Officer for Armaments and Ammunition Maj. Gen. John T. Reim.

According to SIG, this advanced manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, Arkansas, adds 210,000 square-feet of modern manufacturing space in support of the U.S. Army’s NGSW program and the 6.8 hybrid ammunition family. In addition, the company anticipates the facility will serve as a home for approximately 675 new jobs.

Not only will SIG Sauer’s $225 million dollar investment in facilities and equipment will yield more than 675 jobs for the state, it is also anticipated to have an economic impact of about $300 million for Arkansas.

“Arkansas is proud to be home to this facility. It isn’t just a quarter-million square-feet of manufacturing space and more than 600 jobs; it reinforces Arkansas’ place as the arsenal of America,” Gov. Sarah Sanders said. “To Ron and all the team at SIG Sauer, thank you for believing in Arkansas and investing in our state. And to everyone who played a role in bringing this facility here—thank you for your hard work.”

The focus of the Jacksonville Arkansas Ammunition Center is producing advanced ammunition, as well as strengthening the industrial manufacturing base for the U.S. Dept. of Defense. Through a cooperative effort, SIG Sauer and the U.S. Army achieved this scalable manufacturing capability in about two years.

“This facility exemplifies the significant investment being made to enhance capacity and capabilities to enable ammunition production at scale in direct support of our Warfighters,” Maj. Gen. Reim said.

Since the 2016 establishment of SIG Sauer Ammunition in Jacksonville, Arkansas, the operation has grown at a meteoric pace. Today, it is producing ammunition for each branch of the U.S. military, special forces and our NATO allies across all six facilities on the 500,000 square-foot campus.

“This incredible facility gives us the ability to significantly scale manufacturing and grow our output for years to come—and this is only the beginning,” SIG Sauer President and CEO Ron Cohen said.
