At SHOT Show 2020, we got our first look at Benelli's new bolt-action rifle, the Lupo (MSRP: $1,699). According to Benelli, this centerfire rifle boasts "precise sub-MOA accuracy, superb ergonomics, patented adjustability and unprecedented recoil reduction."

Benelli Lupo
The Lupo barrel is crio-treated and is meant for high precision.

Currently, the Lupo is available in the following calibers: .30-06 Springfield, .300 Win. Mag. and .270 Win. It sports a chassis-style construction, with an alloy lower receiver, along with a synthetic stock and fore-end. The barrel is free-floating and bedded into the chassis receiver. Additionally, the barrel is threaded to accept muzzle devices (5/8 x 24).

The length-of-pull is adjustable from 13.8 to 14.75 inches. Additionally, trigger pull is adjustable, and included shims can alter the drop, cast and trigger reach to shooter preference. Finally, the five-round detachable box magazine is in the double-stack configuration, but includes a partial divider that loads similar to a single-stack.

Benelli Lupo
Included shims allow the Lupo stock to be set in up to 36 different positions.

Recoil reduction is provided by a modified version of Benelli's progressive comfort system used for shotguns. Flexing, interlacing fingers absorb recoil before it reaches a shooter's shoulder. If you've never shot a Benelli shotgun, know that this system does a great job at mitigating recoil with ease, and we expect the version used in the Lupo to be no different.

The Lupo carries a seven-year warranty and a three-shot sub-MOA guarantee. Learn more at benelliusa.com.
