Savage Arms is entering the scorching hot lever-action market with the addition of two new rifles, the Revel Classic and Revel DLX. With models available chambered in .22 Long Rifle, .17 HMR and .22 WMR, the new Revel lineup brings a modern take on the classic lever-action rimfire rifle, including takedown capability.

Revel Classic
The new Revel Classic, pictured here chambered in .22 Long Rifle, blends old school lever-action features with modern upgrades. The Turkish Walnut stock pairs well with a smooth lever action, ideal for target practice or small-game hunting.

More from the company about the new lever-action rimfire guns: “Revel’s lever-action mechanism delivers smooth and reliable cycling, while the crisp trigger ensures precise shot placement. Simple, quick takedown in the field or at the range makes this a new go-to backpack rifle. Equipped with a tubular magazine, Revel offers ample firepower for plinking or small game hunting. The Revel Classic and Revel DLX combine aesthetics and cutting-edge performance for a new standard in takedown rimfire firearms.”

One of the standout features of the Revel line is the aforementioned quick takedown capability, which should make for easy transport and storage. To takedown the Revel, you close the action after ensuring no ammo is in the chamber and magazine tube, then place the crossbolt safety into the safe position, open the lever, press the two captive takedown pins and pull the lower and upper halves until they are seperated.

The Revel Classic sports a walnut stock with a classic straight grip. As for the Revel DLX, it features an upgraded contoured walnut stock with intricate stippling. Plus, a rubber butt pad should make for a comfortable shooting experience, reducing recoil and enhancing overall control.

An oversized lever loop gives the Revel line allows for swift, effortless operation, critical for shooters to maintain solid focus on their target. Not only that, Revel lever-action rifles have a medium profile carbon steel barrel that is 18 inches long. The black-colored aluminum receiver is drilled and tapped for mounting optics. In addition, there are adjustable iron sights.

More features common to both models are a crisp trigger, crossbolt safety and two sling swivel studs.

Maintenance for both the Revel Classic and Revel DLX is described by Savage Arms as “a breeze,” due to the simple disassembly design. Shooters have easy access to all the necessary components for streamlined cleaning and other maintenance chores, which will help ensure optimal performance and longevity.

With a tubular magazine, both the Revel Classic and Revel DLX have a 12-round capacity for .22 Long Rifle models, and a nine-round capacity for models chambered in .22 WMR and .17 HMR.

MSRP for the Revel Classic lever-action rimfire rifle in all three chamberings is $439, while the Revel DLX is $539. Only the Revel Classic chambered in .22 Long Rifle is available now, with the .22 WMR and .17 HMR models scheduled to ship early next year. For the Revel DLX, expect to see the .22 Long Rifle model on store shelves later this year, with the .22 WMR and .17 HMR models arriving in spring 2025.
