Out of the four new handguns in Springfield Armory's new XD-M Elite lineup, one model stands out as a great choice for competitive shooters—the XD-M Elite Precision (Model No. XDME95259BHC, MSRP: $653), which sports a monstrous 5.25-inch barrel along with an elongated slide that has a lightening cut on top.

Like all XD-M Elite models, at the core of the Precision model is Springfield Armory's META system—Match Enhanced Trigger Assembly. The trigger is designed with a flat face and an integrated overtravel stop. Additionally, each model in the XD-M Elite collection comes with removable magazine wells, available in standard and short configurations, which accommodate the expanded-capacity magazines that ship with the Elite lineup. As a competition-friendly model, the Precision 9mm includes a fully-adjustable rear sight in addition to the fiber-optic front sight.

As for the aforementioned 5.25-inch barrel, it is made from hammer-forged steel with a 1:16-inch twist. Overall length for the XD-M Elite Precision 9mm pistol is 8.3 inches and the weight is 30 ounces. The slide is manufactured from forged steel with improved slide serrations and a Melonite finish, while the pistol frame is made of black polymer. There's also a bottom-mounted accessory rail and interchangeable backstraps.

The Springfield Armory XD-M Elite Precision 9mm ships with three 22-round magazines. Learn more at springfield-armory.com.
