New from Springfield Armory is the Echelon 4.5F Comp handgun chambered in 9 mm Luger, which is integrally compensated to reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise. According to the company, the Echelon 4.5F Comp 9 mm is “meticulously engineered to offer enhanced performance and unmatched adaptability.”

The integrated compensator featured on the Echelon 4.5F Comp 9 mm handgun has a single port on the top of the hammer-forged slide and barrel. The compensator redirects gas upwards to reduce muzzle rise. In addition, the tritium front sight is positioned behind the compensator for an uninterrupted sight picture. Pairing with the front sight is a tactical rack U-dot rear sight.

Springfield Armory’s new Echelon 4.5F Comp 9 mm handgun features an integral compensator with a single port on the hammer-forged slide and barrel. The result is a pistol that delivers faster and more accurate follow-up shots.

At the heart of the Echelon 4.5F Comp is the Central Operating Group, which is entirely self-contained and serialized, allowing it to be easily moved between grip modules in mere seconds. Made from stainless steel, the chassis provides a robust housing for the operating system.

Concealed beneath the slide cover plate is the Echelon 4.5F Comp’s patent-pending optic mounting system. The Variable Interface System allows users to mount more than 30 optics directly to the slide without the use of adapter plates. Simply configure the self-locking pins for the footprint of your desired optic to achieve a low, direct mount.

The ported 4½-inch barrel is made from hammer forged steel and has a 1:10-inch twist. Additionally, the frame is made of black polymer, while the slide is billet machined with a melonite finish.

Height is 5½ inches with the flush-fitting 17-round magazine and 6½ inches with the 20-round extended magazine. Overall length is eight inches.

“The Echelon was designed to offer a fresh take on the duty-style 9 mm pistol with a host of modular and innovative features,” Springfield Armory Vice President of Marketing Steve Kramer said. “Now with the Echelon Comp, shooters have a new option that combines advanced performance with duty-grade durability.”

MSRP for all three versions of the Echelon 4.5F Comp 9 mm handgun is $749.
