USA Shooting junior shotgun athletes secure six medals (including three golds) at 2022 ISSF Junior World Cup Germany

USA Shooting junior shotgun athletes earned six medals at the 2022 ISSF Junior World Cup Germany. The match was held May 9-20 at the Schießsportzentrum Suhl Shooting Center in Suhl, Germany.

In the men’s trap team event, Lance Thompson, Matthew Kutz and Emilio Carvalho won the gold with a score of 6-2 over runner-up India. Lance Thompson also earned a silver medal (31) in the men’s individual trap event, while Sydney Krieger took the bronze (17) in women’s individual trap.

On the skeet side, Julia “Lia” Nelson walked away with the gold medal (30) in the women’s individual event and Mikena “Grace” Fulton finished in fourth place (10). Not to be outdone, Jordan Sapp, Benjamin Keller and Aidin Burns topped the podium by winning the gold medal in the men’s skeet team event 6-4 over Italy.

In the mixed skeet team bronze medal match, Nelson and Sapp faced teammates Keller and Fulton. The duo of Nelson and Sapp netted their second medals after their bronze-medal performance.

Up next for Team USA's junior shotgun team is the 2022 ISSF World Championships in Osijek, Croatia, scheduled for September 19 to October 25.
