There will be a delay in the change in the classification system for Silhouette competition. This is due to a delay in the upgrading of the NRA web site that was to coincide with this change to make it all flow together seamlessly. It will likely be 2017 before such changes move forward.

Additionally, some changes are being made to the High Power Championships at Camp Perry, OH. The normal 4-day, 60 shots/day program has been reduced to 3 days, with competitors completing an 800 aggregate each day. To facilitate this, more use will be made of block time, improved scoring procedures will be implemented in rapid fire matches, use of convertible sighters will be initiated and fewer pit changes will occur. This is being done to speed up the pace of these notoriously slow events.

The F-Class National Championships will be held in Lodi, WI in both 2016 and 2017. The club is expanding to 34 targets and installing electronic scoring targets, which will increase capacity and speed of the events. Also, there will be no pit duty.

For 2016 there will be a BPCR Silhouette West Championship and a BPCR Silhouette East Championship. This was done to make a championship easier for competitors to attend because there are many who simply cannot travel to New Mexico. The West Championship will be held at NRA Whittington Center and the East Championship at Ridgeway, PA. With that in mind, it sets up a possible East vs. West Invitational Championship that might be held, perhaps on a neutral range in Friendship, IN. Details and proper scheduling are being looked at to see if this is viable.

The 2016 Collegiate Championship will be held in March at Fort Benning, GA. The Pistol Championships will be March 13-17 and the Rifle Club Championships will be held March 18-20. Competitors will need to get their qualifying scores posted by shooting the Collegiate Sectional Championships.

High Power Rifle Long Range will experience a realignment of the aggregate matches, too numerous to mention here. Be sure to consult the online program as soon as it becomes available online. Realignment of the matches was done by the High Power Committee to improve upon the disjointed system that resulted as matches were changed and/or added throughout the years.

This year at the Smallbore National Championships the members of the Roberts Team will be selected. It might be your chance to go to England to shoot—but you can’t go unless you shoot the championship and are selected.

The competitors at the Smallbore Championship asked that more Conventional Prone matches be fired so the Metric Prone events were pulled to add more Conventional. The Metric Prone Championships will be held in Phoenix, AZ at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility.
