The Performance Center has announced two new .22 LR rifles have been added to their line-up. Developed in conjunction with Thompson/Center Arms, the new T/CR22 is available in two stock configurations: one with a Hogue overmolded thumbhole synthetic stock (MSRP: $497) and the other with an Altamont laminated thumbhole stock (MSRP: $616).

Since its the Performance Center, we can expect the features on both of these new rimfire rifles to be on the cutting edge. As such, they will operate using the T/CR22 semi-automatic rifle action. The Performance Center said in a press release that they will "maintain compatibility with most aftermarket 10/22 parts and accessories."

Both models of the T/CR22 (Hogue synthetic stock version at top, Altamont laminated version bottom) last shot will hold open the bolt when using the factory magazine.

Both T/CR22 rifles feature a button-rifled, heavy contour, 20-inch fluted barrel (1:15-inch twist) made from stainless steel. The barrel includes a threaded muzzle for attaching your muzzle device of choice. The receiver is made of machined 6061 aluminum, and the bolt is stainless steel with an oversized handle. Additionally, the T/CR22 is optics-ready with a built-in Picatinny rail.

The new Performance Center T/CR22 rifles ship with a 10-round rotary magazine and a limited lifetime warranty. To learn more, please visit www.smith-wesson.com/rifles.
