The competition began Friday, March 8 with smallbore rifle team and individual competition. NCAA scoring consists of 60 shots for both smallbore and air rifle for a total of 120 shots per team member. The 2019 team champion will be determined by combining the smallbore and air rifle team aggregate scores for each school.

The 2018 championship-winning Kentucky rifle team seeks to repeat their victory but faces a talented WVU team on their home turf.

The atmosphere at the WVU Coliseum is nothing short of electric. In a move akin to ISSF championships, a variety of popular music tracks are being piped into the building that helps to set a really great mood. Ranging from AC/DC, to Bruce Springsteen and Van Morrisionboth the shooters and spectators alike are enjoying themselves.

What's even cooler is the fact this match is utilizing the host schools mobile range, with 26 firing points using the Megalink Electronic Target System. We first brought you the story of the Bill McKenzie Mobile Range last February.
