At the 2021 Federal King of Coal Canyon Precision Rifle Series (PRS) match on Saturday, May 22, Team Federal's Buck Holly secured the Top Gas Gun title with a score of 111. As the name implies, this new PRS match was sponsored by Federal Premium and conducted at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, N.M.

Match Director Derek Love and his staff presented a challenging course of fire for the talented field of 120 shooters. On his way to securing the Top Gas Gun title, Holly tackled the 20 different stages through wind and rain that resulted in a flash flood on the range.

To win the top trophy in the Gas Gun category, Holly was shooting Federal 105-grain Berger Hybrid 6 mm Creedmoor ammunition. According to him, the consistent performance of the Federal ammo was paramount to his success at the match.

“With the conditions we faced and a challenging course of fire, it was nice to know I could count on my ammo to perform consistently. That Gold Medal 6 mm Creedmoor shoots really good in the wind.”

Holly is a native of Richmond Hill, Ga., and in addition to PRS competition and working as an instructor, he is a small business owner and an avid hunter.
