The 2021 Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) National Championships are set to break all previous records for attendance and event participation. On June 24, the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation announced a combined total of 3,614 athletes and 10,082 event entries for this year's matches. Teams, sponsors and families from 33 states will journey to the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio, for the nine-day Nationals with 21 events. The match will be held from July 8–17.

A press release from SSSF credited the resilience of the industry in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic as one possible factor for the uptick in this year's registration numbers.

"This tremendous bounce-back from the pandemic is a great indicator of the health of shooting sports and the industry as a whole."

The SCTP Nationals have an expanded program this year with Super Sporting Clays, while the SASP adds International Air disciplines. These Olympic-style events will be held after the USA Shooting National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships. Nearly 22 percent of participants in the Junior Olympic program came from SASP programs.

In addition, special events such as the parade of teams during the opening ceremonies, recognition of scholarship recipients and the 2021 All-Scholastic Team will return. Plus, SCTP and SASP will host College Recruiting Day on July 16, where athletes and families can connect with college coaches to learn about potential shooting teams, academics and scholarship opportunities.

Shooting demos and side events are also available from partners such as Glock, Kids and Clays, Winchester, Beretta, Metal Madness and more. These partners are dedicated to supporting youth shooting sports, especially when sourcing ammunition has been difficult for teams.

Additionally, Winchester Ammunition, Federal Ammunition and CCI Ammunition have confirmed the supply of ammo allocated for the 2021 SCTP and SASP National Championships to support youth shooting teams.
