In the 2017 edition of Traveler’s Guide to the Firearm Laws of the Fifty States, private-practice attorney J. Scott Kappas has compiled data that will assist readers in making informed decisions. Over 100 changes have been made for this latest edition, regarding legislation and policy changes that apply to gun ownership and transportation of firearms in the United States.

The book opens with notable changes enacted by state legislatures in 2016, as well as pending legislation in states as of print time. There is also an explanation of the difference between "shall issue" and "may issue," as well as legal definitions found in concealed-carry statutes, rights to self-defense and vehicle gun possession. The introduction also defines terms found in common use throughout the book, such as the term "standard firearm ownership," "permittee" and "non-permittee."

Each state’s Traveler’s Checklist has been updated to detail which weapons are lawful for licensed carry as well as if each state offers permitless concealed carry. The Traveler’s Guide covers firearm regulations related to every common mode of travel including cars, boats, RVs, motorcycles and planes. Readers will find a list of contact agencies cataloged by state in alphabetical order.

MSRP: $14.95. The Guide has sold more than 1 million copies since 1997. Order your copy today by visiting www.gunlawguide.com or by calling (859) 491-6400.
