Team SIG professional shooter Daniel Horner captured first place in Tactical division at the 2025 Superstition Mountain Mystery Three-Gun match in Mesa, Arizona, March 14-16.

The victory adds to Horner’s historic achievements in three-gun competition with the MCX-SPEAR LT rifle, following his team gold at the IPSC World Shoot and championship title at Multi-Gun Nationals in 2024.

He finished the match with a final score of 534.76.

“The Superstition Mountain Match draws the best three-gun competitors from around the world, and this competition was a grind down to the very last shot. I went from stage to stage focusing on mindset and knowing that I could depend on my equipment to perform with accuracy and precision,” Horner said.

At the 2025 Superstition Mountain Mystery Three-Gun match, Horner competed through 11 stages equipped with his MCX-SPEAR LT rifle and TANGO6T riflescope, SIG P320-DH3 pistol using iron sights, SIG Sauer Match Elite competition ammunition, KILO10K GEN II rangefinding binoculars and ZULU6 stabilizing binoculars.

More from SIG about the MCX-SPEAR LT rifle: “Developed for an exclusive special operations military program that has since been adopted and fielded throughout the world, in 2022, the SIG Sauer MCX-SPEAR was selected by the U.S. Army for the Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW) program, bringing an entirely new level of performance, reliability and capability to the soldiers. In 2024, the U.S. Army officially began fielding the MCX-SPEAR as the XM7 as the squad rifle replacing the M4.”

As for the SIG Sauer P320 handgun, versions of it have been selected as the official sidearm of the U.S., Canadian, Australian and Danish militaries, among many other military and law enforcement organizations worldwide. All branches of the U.S. military carry the M17 and M18, a variant of the P320.
