The 2022 NILO Open Sporting Clays Event will be conducted June 10-11, with hundreds of clay target shooters expected to compete this year for more than $35,000 in prize money. The event, which is in its fourth year, is intended for shooters of all skill levels and will be held at NILO, Winchester’s hunting and shooting preserve located in Brighton, Illinois. In addition, the 2022 NILO Open will be a National Sporting Clays Association registered shoot.

As for the specifics of the match, individual shooters can elect to compete one day or both days. Teams will shoot the 15-station sporting clays course during either morning or afternoon sessions. Individuals who do not register with a team will be paired with one. Registration fees per day come to $135.

The registration fees cover lunch, a Winchester gift bag and, perhaps most important of all—100 rounds of Winchester AA shotshell ammunition for the 15-station sporting clays course.

Side shooting games will also be available, including $20 for the flurry and $60 for the 50-shot practice course. Additionally, with each entry, individual shooters are entered into prize drawings.

The 2022 NILO Open sponsors include Alltrista, Browning, Ervin Industries, Farm & Home Supply, Foam Supplies Inc., Industrial Chemicals, Purina Pro Plan, White Flyer, Wieland and Winchester.

Some background about NILO Farms: In 1952, John M. Olin turned more than 600 acres of farmland joined by timber into a wildlife oasis and the ideal place to raise and train the best Labrador Retrievers in the world. He called it NILO, dedicated to land and hunting, sport shooting, gun dogs and conservation education.
