Team Winchester’s Anthony Matarese Takes Top Spot At NSCA North Central Regional

Anthony Matarese continued his hot streak in competition with a big win at the 2022 National Sporting Clays Association North Central Regional. The Team Winchester shooter secured the High Overall Championship title in the main event after crushing 195 of 200 targets.

The 2022 NSCA North Central Regional, which was hosted by Northbrook Sports Club in Hainesville, Illinois, marked the fifth competition on this year’s NSCA Championship Tour, Powered by Winchester. Approximately 700 shooters made the trek to the tournament, held July 27-31 with a total of 1,150 targets for shooters spread across 20 events.

Matarese locked up the High Overall Championship title at the competition, along with the M3 award in Super Sporting scoring 96. For winning the High Overall title, he earned a $5,000 payout. In addition, his Winchester teammate, Zachary Kienbaum, finished M1 in Super Sporting, also walking away from the competition with a score of 96.

For competition, Matarese shoot Winchester AA target loads.

Finishing in second place at the 2022 NSCA North Central Regional Main Event was Todd Hitch with 193, while Braxton Oliver rounded out the HOA top three finishers, also earning a score of 193, but dropping a target in the Main Event shoot-off to take third place.

The next stop on the 2022 NSCA Championship Tour is the Northeast Regional, to be held August 17-21 at the Hopkins Game Farm in Kennedyville, Maryland.
