AMU’s Sally Talbott Wins Bianchi Cup Women’s Championship

Talbott secured the 2022 Bianchi Cup Women’s Championship with a 10-point cushion over the runner-up

Sally Talbott of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit secured the 2022 Bianchi Cup Women’s Championship title after a triumphant performance which garnered her a 1913-155X score, also placing her 13th in the overall field of 117 competitors. The match was held May 25-27 at the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club near Hallsville, Missouri.

Her best stage this year was the Moving Target, which many consider to be the most difficult event. Talbott walked away from the Mover with a stage score of 480-27X. On her way to winning the 2022 Bianchi Cup Women’s Championship, she only dropped points at the Practical stage, 473-39X. All four Bianchi Cup events—the Mover, Practical, Barricade and Falling Plates—are worth 480 points each.

Talbott is a U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit shooter who competes in both NRA Precision Pistol and NRA Action Pistol competition. In addition to her 2022 Bianchi Cup Women’s Championship title, Talbott was a member of the AMU team (USAMU Blue) that won the Open 4-Person Team Championship with a combined score of 7659-654X.

The 2022 Bianchi Cup Women’s Championship runner-up was former AMU shooter and past Women’s Champion Julie Golob with 1903-144X, 10 points behind Talbot's score. In third place was previous Women’s Champion, Cherie Blake of Australia, with a score of 1900-142X.
