The NRA Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championships were last month at Fort Benning, GA. Student-athletes from 17 school across the country competed shoulder-to-shoulder in this popular championship, now in its ninth year.

The championship includes NRA-affiliated college rifle clubs, ROTC teams and independent shooters. The purpose is to determine the National Collegiate Rifle Club Individual and Team Champions. In addition to smallbore rifle and air rifle competitions, there are Training Summits hosted by the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit that are open to all participants and coaches. These events are great opportunities for coaches and shooters to meet others in the sport that they usually wouldn’t get to see during the regular season.

The NRA Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championship has grown over the last decade—strengthening the competitive landscape for rifle teams on campuses throughout the United States. Every collegiate rifle is urged to compete in the annual NRA Intercollegiate Sectionals to earn a berth.

There are nearly 300 colleges and universities that offer shooting programs around the country. For more information on NRA Collegiate Shooting Programs, please visit collegiate.nra.org
