On Saturday, September 28 at the 2019 Precision Rifle Expo in Blakely, GA, MasterPiece Arms introduced what it has deemed "its most revolutionary chassis configuration yet," the MPA Matrix. Based on the company's BA chassis system, the new Matrix offers precision shooters multiple configurations between grips, thumb rests and trigger finger supports. Think of it as an enhanced version of the BA built for the Remington Short Action. MSRP is $1,200 to $1,400; depending on options.

Additional grips, thumb rests and trigger finger supports can be purchased separately.

MPA has a convenient hand measurement chart to help identify which grip configuration will work best for you. The MPA Matrix Chassis features five different grip options (three swept and two vertical), three different thumb rest designs and four different trigger finger supports. The MPA buttstock includes an adjustable cheek riser and also length of pull adjustment. The recoil pad is adjustable for height and cant. Additionally, there are M-Lok slots along the side of the chassis fore-end and barricade stop holes along the bottom. The fore-end of the chassis is two inches longer than the standard BA or BA Competition chassis.

There's 1.5 inches of Acra Rail built into the chassis, and the V-Bedding system. The Matrix is compatible with any AICS-type magazines, but none are included.

The MPA Matrix chassis is CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum. The weight is 6.2 pounds, and the length of pull ranges from 13.5 to 14.75 inches (can be shortened to 12.5 inches by special request).

Cerakote colors are available for the MPA Matrix chassis: graphite black, flat dark earth, burnt bronze, tungsten, gunmetal, sniper green, NRA blue and USMC red. Camouflage patterns are also available with a $450 additional fee.

If you are interested, be ready to wait. MPA chassis lead times vary anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks, according to the website. However, MPA is in the process of doubling capacity by moving into a larger facility. Learn more at MasterPieceArms.com.
