Trijicon has updated its battle-tested RMR Type 2 reflex sight with a new 3.25-MOA green-dot option, taking advantage of the human eye’s natural sensitivity to green wavelengths. The result: improved daytime contrast, reduced eye fatigue and greater usability for shooters with astigmatism or color vision issues. The optic is available now with an MSRP of $810.

For those unfamiliar, the RMR (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) Type 2 is a go-to sight for military, law enforcement and civilian users who demand a resilient, lightweight aiming solution. At just 1.2 ounces and machined from forged 7075-T6 aluminum, it’s known for surviving extreme conditions—whether mounted on a carbine, handgun or shotgun. Trijicon’s patented housing shape helps redirect impact forces away from the lens, increasing durability under recoil or drops.

Green dot
The RMR Type 2 Green Dot lives up to its name with a crisp 3.25-MOA green LED reticle—optimized for visibility in bright and variable lighting.

The green dot isn’t just a visual gimmick. Human eyes detect green light more efficiently than red, particularly in bright environments. That means faster dot acquisition at lower brightness settings, which in turn extends battery life. The dot remains crisp against high-glare or cluttered backgrounds, and is less prone to washout in full sun, haze or fog. For users with red-dot fatigue or vision anomalies, green may be a welcome change.

This updated RMR includes the same robust electronics as its red-dot siblings. It features Trijicon’s Button Lock Out Mode to prevent accidental brightness changes, as well as a Battery Conservation Mode that adjusts brightness to ambient conditions after 16.5 hours of inactivity. The optic runs on a single CR2032 lithium battery, with a lifespan of up to two years on mid-level brightness.

Audible windage and elevation clicks allow for fast zeroing, and compatibility with night vision devices remains intact. The 3.25-MOA dot strikes a solid balance between precision and speed, making it Trijicon’s most popular dot size for both handgun and rifle applications.

With the RMR Type 2 Green Dot, Trijicon hasn’t reinvented the optic—it’s just given shooters a more eye-friendly, daylight-optimized option that builds on a proven platform.

MSRP for the new Trijicon RMR Type 2 Adjustable LED Green Dot is $810. Go to trijicon.com.
