HOUSTON — Brandon Powell did what Brandon Powell tends to do.

The world sporting clays champion broke 196 of 200 targets at the Greater Houston Sports Club to win the Main Event at the 2026 Browning Briley, beating runner-up Brad Sutton, Jr., by three targets in a field of 361. The victory was worth $25,000 and arrived at a useful moment, with the World English Sporting Clays Championship only weeks away.

His Remington teammate Madison Sharpe handled the women’s side with similar authority. The national and world champion finished four targets clear of the runner-up in a 40-shooter field to take the Women’s Main Event, then added the FITASC Lady division title after posting an 87 of 100 score.

The five-day tournament ran April 7-11 and drew more than 600 shooters in total, making it one of the deeper fields on the spring calendar.

“Brandon continues to be the standard in sporting clays,” said Christian Hogg, Remington’s Director of Marketing. “With major competitions on the horizon like the World English Sporting Clays Championship in a few weeks, Brandon has great momentum to be win his third consecutive world title.”

Both shooters competed with Remington Premier shotshells from the Premier STS and Premier Nitro lines.

Full results from the tournament are posted on the Score Chaser website.
